Omori Coast by Hasui Kawase

This Hasui Kawase print captures the serene essence of Japan's coastline with the precision and poetry that defined the Shin-Hanga movement. Kawase was a master of quiet moments — mist rising from still waters, the interplay of light and shadow across landscapes — and Omori Coast exemplifies his gift for distilling nature's contemplative beauty into intricate, luminous detail. His work draws from centuries of Ukiyo-e tradition whilst charting its own modern path.

We've reproduced it on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks that resist fading for decades. The matte finish is key here: it eliminates glare and lets Kawase's subtle gradations and delicate linework breathe without distraction. Whether you're framing it or leaving it unframed, the depth and clarity of the original woodblock transfers faithfully to the print.

This is a natural fit for bedroom wall art where contemplative mood matters, or anywhere you want a moment of calm. It also sits beautifully within a broader collection of vintage travel posters and antique Japanese works. Available in A4, A3, A2, A1, 50×70cm and 70×100cm — all dispatched from our Newcastle base with free UK delivery over £60 — this print slots into minimalist, dining, and living spaces with equal grace.

Owning a Hasui Kawase is less about decoration and more about living with a meditation on landscape and light.
